DEATH'S VOICE

If death had a voice,
that is how you would sound.

Watching your mouth and teeth,
I imagine myself there.

Only I would be a red grape,
and when you bit down, the juice

would be my blood. It would
dry on your lips and side of your

mouth. You wouldn't even
have the decency to wipe it clean.

NIGHTMARE

You taste of dry leaves.
You taste like a garden
cemetery with the dead
out of their graves
sunbathing on the lawn.

In mute sadness your
emerald eyes weep black
tears the scent of mud and dung.
Mourning butterflies
make a feast of your tears.
